Project Experience
The successful delivery of this multifaceted cinematic event was a demanding yet fulfilling experience for Mystique. The extensive scope of work necessitated precision, adaptability, and agile problem-solving to guarantee a seamless experience. Ensuring that all facets of the event aligned with global benchmarks while preserving an authentic Jamaican essence was a considerable undertaking. Moreover, the presence of international dignitaries and figures mandated stringent security and logistical measures. This project underscored that with a dedicated, strategic team deeply committed to storytelling and execution, no challenge is insurmountable. It established a new standard for brand activations in Jamaica and beyond. Here are some of the best things we loved about this execution;
- This event illustrates that exceptional event marketing transcends mere logistics; it encompasses storytelling, cultural significance, and strategic implementation. In our aim to orchestrate a high-impact event, we prioritized authenticity, detailed planning and strategic alliances.
- Large-scale events like this event necessitate meticulous planning and coordination across multiple teams. The effective management of 11 execution teams underscores the importance of structured workflows and clear delegation.
- The incorporation of Niabingi drummers, reggae music, mural art, and Jamaican cuisine imbued the event with authenticity, distinguishing it from a generic Hollywood red carpet. Localizing brand storytelling deeply resonates with audiences and amplifies engagement.
- Mystique amplified the event beyond a single premiere by executing seven distinct activations, encompassing a fan experience, mural installation, and promotional campaigns. The inclusion of pre-event buzz, multi-location experiences, and post-event engagement in Mystique’s strategy fostered a well-rounded campaign that maximized brand impact.
Key Learnings; Despite a mostly seamless execution, on-site communication issues and last-minute security gaps highlighted the need for stronger real-time coordination and redundancy planning.
The Bob Marley: One Love premiere was a milestone event that showcased Mystique Integrated Services Ltd.’s ability to execute world-class marketing activations while staying true to Jamaica’s cultural heritage. Through meticulous planning, creative ingenuity, and seamless execution, Mystique successfully delivered a historic event that not only celebrated Bob Marley’s legacy but also reinforced its standing as a leader in 360° marketing solutions.
The Bob Marley ‘One Love’ Premier marks a landmark accomplishment for Mystique!
Our story begins five months prior, when our client Paramount Global contacted us about curating this incredible 3-pronged spectacle that involved creating an immersive Bob Marley One Love fan experience, hosting 900 VIP guests, including Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Rita Marley, Ziggy Marley and family, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at a glamorous reggae inspired red carpet event, and arranging 2 film screenings, one at the iconic Carib 5 and the other at Palace Cineplex-at the same time, on the same day.
Mystique relished the chance to flex our logistical muscles and inject some Jamaican glamour into this international cinematic event Bob Marley One Love.
Our goal was to transcend ‘the typical’ and we did so with zeal, gumption and Jamaican flair.
With our partners, @maineventja, @m_oneja, @mstylexp and @nmdinc on site, we coordinated with the KSAC, JCF, NWA, and JUTA to divert traffic in Cross Roads and shut it down for the day.
Audiences did not have to Wait in Vain for entertainment, as the pre-show, which included Niabingi drummers, a dub artist, Dj Zuri Marley, Yohan Marley & Mystic Marley – set the irie mood for what lay ahead.
While the Bob Marley ‘One Love Premier’ was a spectacular accomplishment, that’s not where the story ends for the inspirational biopic.
Our team was honoured to recruit muralists Jordan Harrison, Anthony Smith, Pamela Chang and Michael Robinson on behalf of Paramount Global to create the Bob Marley One Love mural in Trench Town, commemorating Bob’s legacy and the people who had a big impact on his life.
The mural’s goal is to inspire the people in Trench Town to keeping following their dreams, as the reggae royalty featured in the mural did before them, continuing the movie’s message – Bob Marley’s message – of hope, peace and one love
