Mystique prioritizes the protection of sensitive and confidential information shared within our WhatsApp group chat. We ensure that our handling of personal data accords with the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020 (JDPA) and international best practice and, have therefore, prepared this Whatsapp Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice outlines our policy prohibiting the transfer of such data among group members. The purpose of this group chat is strictly limited to team coordination, notices, and general announcements.

Whatsapp is end-to-end encrypted which means that only participants in the group are able to see what has been shared. However, members of the WhatsApp group chat are prohibited from sharing sensitive or confidential information within the group. This includes but is not limited to personal data (any information which may be used to identify members of the group such as photos, names, email addresses, residential and/or commercial addresses), financial information and proprietary business data and any other information that could pose a risk to individuals or the organization if disclosed. The disclosure of any of the above mentioned categories of data or any data which may be combined with other information to identify any member of the group, poses a significant risk to the members of this group and to Mystique.

Mystique cannot guarantee the security of data shared within the platform, and members are responsible for safeguarding their own information. In order to protect your personal data, here are some steps you can take:

• Lock the chat via password, personal identification number, fingerprint or any other method available to you having regard to your devices’ capabilities.

• Please ensure that the chat is not left open on your device if you are going to be away from it.  

• Restrict access only to individuals who require access to execute their job functions.

• If a member becomes aware of any unauthorized sharing of sensitive or confidential information within the WhatsApp group chat, they are encouraged to report it immediately to the group administrator.

Members of the WhatsApp group chat are expected to comply with the JDPA, this Privacy Notice, as well as any other relevant policies, regulations, or laws pertaining to data protection and confidentiality. Failure to comply with this policy will result in immediate removal from the group.

This Privacy Notice is subject to periodic review and may be updated as necessary to reflect changes in our practices or applicable Regulations.
